Car Insurance Smart (Car Insurance). Is my car lame? Should I be embarrassed? Is my car lame? Should I be embarrassed? I bought a 2002 Mustang V6 a few months back. I was broke and had two days to buy a car and I ended up getting a really good deal on it. Yeah, I'd like a GT one of these days but at the moment can't afford it, especially with almost $5 a gallon gas. The car's pretty much brand new, has leather interior, premium sound system, all kinds of upgrades. I'm really happy with it but my boyfriend's brother has been such a snob about it. He used to drive a 2003 V6 (that wasn't even as nice as mine, in all honesty) but now has a 2002 Saleen Mustang and now sticks his nose up whenever he sees any other Mustang. He was so rude to me about my car the other day and it really bothered me. Ever since then, it seems everyone's making rude remarks about my car. It may not be the greatest car but it's not like I'm driving around some beater! What do you guys think? Is it lame? the guy sounds like your typical V8 only douchebag 2002 mustang wow thats hot when a girl rides in a mustang beats the hell outta walking...mustangs in general are over rated, but there's nothing ot be embarassed about. people are just assholes. not lame! intelligent move, he`s the one who must buy hi-test gas.and not to mention high insurance rates unless you plan on using the car for street racing, just stand back away from him let him continue his misguided ways, sooner or later he will end up in the junk heap embarrassed as can be and no ride, just let it happen. there is more than enough evidence of this in the papers and other media in the end you will win out just be patient That guy is a stuck up fool who is making you feel bad about a great looking car. It will take time but most people get to the point when they don't care what other people think. I would completely ignore what other people think and say. There is nothing wrong with your car, and nobody who is worth two cents judges somebody by their car anyway. I suspect some of the people making remarks are actually jealous of your car. I think that dude is lame. Your car sounds sweet! Sounds like your b/f's brother is just a tool. I would ignore him and just tell him that his '02 Saleen is already 10 years behind the curb, so he doesn't really have room to talk. Not at all; these car snobs I wouldn't loose any sleep over them as much as gas costs I wouldn't thumb my nose up at anybody. It probably costs him just as much to fill up his 2003 as it does yours. Anything is better than riding the bus believe me I had a 1996 Dodge Spirit the transmission went out in 3 months I had to pay the car off and trade it in for something else. I never had the cool car, but the only time I had to ride the bus, was when I was paying that car off. As soon as I made my last payment I traded that thing in and got another ride. In my opinion, i think that the "best" car is the ones that are mechanically sound. Key word "MECHANICALLY." Some guy can have a sweet flowmaster exhaust, turbo, 18" rims, tinted windows, cold air intake, sound system (you get the point) but if his car isn't running well, as in it is difficult to start, or knocks or has transmission problems and overheats, then all that crap means NOTHING. You can throw all your money into aftermarket parts that make you engine sound "good," or make you car look "sweet," but in the end the most appreciated cars are the dependable ones. And you shouldn't care what other people think of what you drive! If your happy, then that's all that matters. Na sounds like a sweezy car and your friend just sounds like D bag so just ignore em. Smart . How to Troubleshoot a 1991 Honda Accord's Power SteeringIf your little Honda Accord has become difficult steer and you feel like you're driving a big rig and need muscles to steer, this is more than likely a sign of problems with the power steering. However, even to experienced mechanics looking over the guts of the 1991 Honda Accord's power steering system can seem a little bit like foreign territory, since the system's location is not like it is in other cars. Luckily, these Honda Accords are prone to having only two basic problems. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Flashlight Owner's manual Power steering fluidPower Steering Fluid Step by Step : 1 Check the power steering fluid. Make sure the car is level and the engine is cooled down. The power steering reserve is located under the hood on the driver's side, towards the front of the car next to the dip stick for the oil. 2Power steering cap Unscrew the cap to the power steering fluid reserve. If you don't seen any of the pink/red liquid in the reserve, that either means you are out of fluid or you have a leak. 3 Fill the reserve with power steering fluid. Make sure you use the steering fluid that is made specially for the Honda Accord. If you notice a puddle of red/pink liquid underneath your car after filling the reserve, then you have a leak. 4 Look for loose or cracked hoses connected to the reserve to troubleshoot leaks. Bad Steering Pump Step by Step : 1 Locate the steering pump. The steering pump is connected to the fluid reserve, which you will find directly underneath the reserve. 2Rusted power steering pump Take a look at the the steering pump. Look for rust, dirt or corrosion; these are things that make your car difficult to steer. This also causes a screeching noise when you try to sharply turn your wheel. 3 Double-check for loose connections to any hoses or valves connected to the power steering pump.
Smart . How to Diagnose Power Steering ProblemsThe steering system in your car is made up of several components that can fail after years of use. Some problems may be obvious as soon as they start; others may become apparent too late, forcing you to replace major components. Take steps to diagnose some of the most common steering problems and look for signs of minor problems that could develop into serious ones. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Floor jack and two jack stands Flashlight Shop rag Step by Step : 1 Check the power steering fluid if your car is hard to steer. Lack of steering fluid makes it hard to turn the steering wheel. Other possible problems include worn steering gear and ball sockets in the steering assembly, worn suspension system components and loose steering pump belt. 2 Open the hood and start the engine. Ask someone to turn the steering wheel while you listen at the steering pump. If you can hear the pump make a whine and loud noise, the belt might be slipping. Adjust the belt if necessary. Also, lack of steering fluid may cause the noise. Add fluid if necessary, then turn the steering wheel completely to the left and right several times to purge air from the system. 3 Start the engine and ask someone to turn the steering wheel left and right. Check for loose or worn parts at the steering column, steering assembly connecting to the steering column, connecting arms at both ends of the assembly and steering assembly mounting brackets. Worn or loose steering components may produce loud noises and excessive play at the steering wheel. Take the car to an auto shop for further inspection if necessary. 4 Lift the front of the car using a floor jack and safely support it on jack stands. Ask someone to wiggle each of the front wheels left and right while you watch the wheel assembly connection to the steering system assembly. Look for loose or worn out components. The assembly should remain solid as the wheel is moved back and forth. 5 Inspect the steering pump, connecting hoses and lines around the steering assembly and look for possible leaks using a flashlight if necessary. If you frequently add fluid to the steering pump, the steering mechanism might have a leak. Clean steering components with a shop rag and recheck a couple of days later. You might find a loose hose clamp, torn hose, broken line or crack on the steering pump. Tips & Warnings Worn or loose steering components may cause the vehicle to wander from side to side as you drive even when keeping the steering wheel straight. If you cannot find and correct the problem, take the vehicle to an auto shop as soon as possible to avoid a possible traffic accident. *On most other vehicles with rear-wheel drive and V-8 engines, the #1 cylinder is up front on the driver's side, with #3, #5, and #7 proceeding toward the rear of the vehicle. Then #2 is up front on the passenger side, with #4, #6, and #8 following. (See Figure 12-6.) V-6 engines are similar to V-8s. The three odd-numbered plugs are on one side, and the three even-numbered plugs are on the other side, with the lowest-numbered plugs usually up near the radiator. Front-wheel drive vehicles with transverse V-type engines have the #1 cylinder up front on the driver's side, with the odd-numbered cylinders proceeding toward the rear, and #2 up front on the passenger side, with the even-numbered cylinders following (see Figures 12-7 and 12-8). No matter what the engine configuration, the #1 spark plug is always the spark plug in your #1 cylinder. . Honda Pilot. * Firing order Don't confuse cylinder sequence with firing order. Although your engine may have its cylinders in simple numerical sequence, if the cylinders were fired in that order, the engine would rock violently as first the cylinders on one side (or toward the front) fired in rapid succession, and then the other cylinders did likewise. To avoid this, the firing order is carefully arranged to distribute the shock of combustion evenly throughout the engine. The cylinders fire in very swift sequence, and the result is a fairly stable engine. A typical firing order for a Ford V-8 engine (with cylinders #1 to #4 on one side and cylinders #5 to #8 on the other) would be #1, #5, #4, #2, #6, #3, #7, #8. The firing order is printed inside each of the engines shown in Figures 12-2 through 12-8. Trace the path of combustion back and forth throughout each of these engines so you can see how the shock of combustion is distributed to avoid rocking the engine. Remember, the whole thing happens very rapidly. '>art'"' ^eeP'n9 ^our Car m G°°d Condition, System by System Removing the spark plugs Smart . Why does Huskee lawn mower have gray exhaust?

To label your wires, place a piece of masking tape or a clothespin on the spark plug wire near the boot that covers the tip of each plug. Put the proper cylinder number on each one. If you also label the boot where each wire enters the distributor cap terminal, you'll never be unsure about hooking things up properly. (Of course, if you make it a habit to remove the wire from only one plug at a time and to put it back before you remove another, you won't ever get into trouble — unless another wire comes off accidentally.) One way to royally confuse yourself and make the relatively simple task of changing spark plugs into a nightmare is to pull all your spark plugs out at one time. To keep your sanity and to avoid turning this job into an all-weekend project, work on one spark plug at a time: Remove it, inspect it, clean it, and, if it's salvageable, gap it. Then replace it — before you move on to the next spark Smart . How many underage drinkers died in 2007?
